This video might just as well be called a short film due to the large amount of time they spend building the ideas of the song before they ever start to play the music (Ed.)
When you think of the word “royalty,” status, class and power often come to mind. But there’s another definition, and his name is Royalty – an Internet music sensation whose recent music video and single, “Girl Girl” has him being pegged as one of the next BLAZIN’ artists to emerge this summer. The Los Angeles based Puerto Rican songwriter, producer, and rapper makes music that merges Hip Hop, Pop and R&B into something new and exciting that’s not often seen in music today. His trademark for success has been his overwhelming commitment towards his fan base and making himself extremely interactive via the Internet to his audience.
Royalty, like many other artists; got his start doing mixtapes, opening shows for major label acts (Bobby Valentino, Tyrese, Ja Rule, Pretty Ricky) and eventually dropping his debut album in 2006. Now it’s without a doubt Royalty’s time to shine, as he just finished being a headline act at the Cinco de Mayo Fest in Salinas, California this past May. His ability to juggle his time during studio sessions that include him putting the finishing touches on his sophomore release; to managing his brand which also includes apparels and books, just goes to prove how dedicated and serious he is.
While “Girl Girl” has had massive radio play on the West Coast, it’s starting to spread like wild fire towards the radio outlets on the East, down South and in the Midwest. It’s been forecasted that by the end of the summer, Royalty will have tripled his already hundred thousand fan base well into the millions, which makes him one of the BLAZIN’ HEAT recording artists that FULL BLAST MAGAZINE has their eye on.
